Q: WHAT IS NATUROPATHY?

Naturopathic medicine is a comprehensive approach to improving health and treating illness. Focusing on prevention and using natural substances and treatments, Naturopathic doctors (NDs) support and stimulate the body’s ability to heal itself.

The primary goal of naturopathic treatment is to address the cause of illness, rather than treat or suppress symptoms. The client is seen as a whole person by the ND who takes the physical mental, emotional and spiritual dimensions into account when diagnosing and developing a treatment plan.

Q: WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM A FIRST VISIT?

Prior to your first visit, you will be asked to complete a detailed health questionnaire. Please visit our Forms page, under Resources (or click here) to print off a copy, then fill them out and bring them with you to your initial visit. These forms can also be obtained at the clinic prior to your visit, they can be faxed to you, or you can come 30 minutes before your visit to fill them out.

During your first visit, Dr. Slonetsky will take an in-depth history with the goal of understanding all the factors which may be affecting your health. Some simple non-invasive tests may be recommended. A personal treatment plan will then be proposed to help improve your health.

The initial visit is 1.5 hours in length. Follow-up visits are typically 30 minutes, but maybe 45 minutes to 1 hour in length depending on your needs.
